Creating Breakthroughs in Love and Forgiveness
If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that I talk a LOT about love and forgiveness. These qualities heal and transform life.
But how are we doing with it? How much are we embodying unconditional love and forgiveness, day in and day out?
I ask because we are being deeply called now, in a world that is full of turmoil and division, as humanity is standing on the precipice of great destruction.
It’s an important question, because on some level (maybe on every level), it starts with us as individuals. With YOU and ME.

The more we raise our awareness, consciousness, and embodiment of love and forgiveness, the better off the world will be. When enough human beings reach certain points of consciousness, humanity as a whole can make positive shifts that are oh so sorely needed.
That’s why it’s so important that we do our part, not only in healing ourselves, but in helping others.
And healing ourselves IS helping others, because we anchor and emit whatever coherence and integrity we develop. Our embodiment of love and forgiveness changes the vibrational field around us, affecting everyone and everything in it. In fact, there are a lot of tangible outcomes as we increase our frequency, vibration, and coherence.
For example, as we become peaceful in our hearts, we are us less susceptible to divisiveness. Then, our very presence helps bring equanimity, neutrality, and peace into any conflict.
As we become more present, we are more capable of giving whoever or whatever is in front of us what they need. Our attention is more nourishing and provides a feeling of acceptance and safety.
And as we become more aligned and integrated, we are able to accomplish more in our lives, resulting in more positive and meaningful impact.
These are just a few of the countless benefits that come from our dedication to healing and upliftment, not to mention that any step up we make is affecting the whole.

But we all have blockages to overcome on this pathway. As a recovering perfectionist with many serious challenges, there were times in my life when the messages of self-hatred were much louder than any form of love. But after years of dedicated practice and blessings, I’ve learned more about how to love and forgive. It’s a journey.
I started meditating in 1989 and got involved in deeper spiritual work and practices starting around the year 2000. Later in 2009, I was struggling, had given up my practices, and slid into my deepest, darkest night of the soul. Then, I was introduced to the work of Dr. & Master Sha and went deeper into my spiritual practices and journey.
However, even with years of practice (and blessings) that brought more balance, optimism, contentment, openness, receptivity, etc., and helped me to heal certain health conditions, I still had sizable issues with loving myself or others.
How do I know? Because I often lacked of peace. I still had lots of judgment and expectations. I still had a hard time letting go of mistakes. I still suffered with “what happened”…. whatever it was. Though I was improving in my awareness and efforts throughout these years, these episodes still took up too much space in my life.
Indeed, it took quite a bit more time, practice, and blessings to burn off the thick karmic blockages to my self-love. Fortunately, that did finally happen for me, and I give myself love and forgiveness daily. Of course there is still improvement to be had. From my perspective, virtually every aspect of life is an out picturing of self love, which is really just love: acceptance, presence, compassion, and kind action in life.
This is why I teach Soulful Living with a focus on love, forgiveness, and gratitude. In my experience, if you can train yourself to feel/invoke gratitude when your inclination is to be ungrateful, such as when unpleasant things happen (which are always gifts), it opens the door to your ability to also start loving and forgiving yourself (and others), even when you are not inclined to.

I will write more on this another time, but for now, I want to provide an overview of what I feel made breakthroughs more probable for me. Being engaged in a multi-pronged approach to my healing created fertile ground for progress. Maybe it will for you too!
Consistent practices and habits that were helpful:
- Regular meditation/prayer/contemplation.
- Both group and individual practices (group practice increases the power while individual practice can increase your personal engagement, discovery, and presence to what you need in the moment)
- Regular “systemic” cleansings (i.e. a complete overall cleansing process, such as focusing on all the chakras individually or practicing body consciousness systemically, from head to toe, or some similar process.)
- Use of methods and tools that increase the power, purity, and vibrational field of your practices – this facilitates greater depth and speed of your transformation.
- Movement – the body needs movement. Energy and matter (body) blockages hold emotional, mental, and spiritual blockages. In addition to any regular exercise, do something that directly attends to your structural alignment and tissue release. If yoga or something similar isn’t your thing, find a good body worker who can help you make necessary shifts.
- Integrate simple habits of gratitude, love, and forgiveness in daily life, at pivotal times. Start with gratitude. Find a way to be grateful when you are not happy about something. Stop whatever negative cycle you may be in and invoke gratitude. Adopt a philosophy that helps lead you to gratitude, such as, “This is a gift. God/the Universe has given this situation to me and will show me how to use it and move through it,” or “This has purpose. Any negative perception or reaction is an opportunity for me to heal and transform my negative field,” etc.
- Once you’ve acquired some success with gratitude, start offering love and forgiveness to yourself and others when you find it difficult to do so. Open your heart and see the innocence in everyone.
- Practice body consciousness. To love (and heal) your body, you must be present in it (i.e. locate and be present to your liver; give it love).
- Head directly into your discomforts and upsets by connecting, being present, and giving love and forgiveness. Give love and forgiveness to the disappointment, anger, fear, jealousy, etc. (to that part of you). When you make a mistake or did this or that again, love and forgive yourself. If you truly love and forgive the parts of you sponsoring the imbalance, you are not bypassing but are holding yourself accountable! But you must open your heart to the hard stuff. Do this repeatedly. It will change the field of negativity and then your behavior will change too.
All this takes practice (and possibly more instruction), but it’s well worth your attention and effort. Having a very clear, supportive framework for life combined with regular spiritual practices, movement, and a willingness to implement simple techniques during daily life can lead to significant breakthroughs. Coaching and group support can also make a huge difference.
Remember that small breakthroughs can lead to big inspirations and success!
